- Museum of Cádiz: add a cultural touch to your day with its art and exhibitions. Just check the opening times — it’s right in Plaza Mina, one of the city’s Carnival hotspots. You might just end up humming Carnival tunes outside instead!
- Join a guided tour: discover Cádiz’s history without getting wet. You’ll find a range of options around the city’s landmarks, from the Cathedral to the Gadir archaeological site. - Peña La Estrella: a long-standing Carnival society that even sets up its own stage in Plaza de Candelaria. But don’t worry, you can stay dry inside their premises.
- Peña Flamenca Juan Villar: a flamenco restaurant at the entrance to La Caleta beach — legendary in Cádiz. They serve excellent fish and seafood in a cosy, unique atmosphere.
- Or honestly, any bar full of locals ready to sing!
🍺 Eat and drink… and stay soaked only on the inside
If it’s raining outside, raise a glass inside. Here are some must-visit stops for a proper gastronomic Carnival:
- Taverns and bodegas: local wine and chicharrones (crispy pork belly) in good company. Don’t miss the iconic “Casa Manteca” or Ultramarinos El Cañón, both with strong Carnival ties.
