In this post we are going to take you on a tour through the most beautiful towns that you can visit in C\u00e1diz, something highly recommended for those who stay with us in one of our apartments in the capital. If you have never had the opportunity to get to know the province of C\u00e1diz, you probably won\u2019t have been able to verify the authentic history of its iconic towns. Many routes, such as the Ruta de los Pueblos Blancos, make these towns a natural historical space that coexists between the greenness of the most idyllic forests and mountains and the wonderful beaches of C\u00e1diz.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Below we show you a list of places that could make up the 5 most beautiful and idyllic towns in C\u00e1diz, although this is only a listing, and we encourage you to discover them by yourself or with your beloved ones, as there are many other very beautiful towns, each with its own charm. Only on the Ruta de los Pueblos Blancos, there are 19 well know towns to discover, such as El Bosque, Benamahoma, Zahara de la Sierra, Grazalema with its Biosphere Reserve, and many others with much to discover.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There are also other wonderful towns that we encourage you to visit, such as Sanl\u00facar de Barrameda, more oriented towards tourism and gastronomy, but which do not keep that historical landscape so characteristic of the white towns on this listing, as they are much more urbanized and have more services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Arcos de la Frontera<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Surrounded by nature in its purest form, it is a town that even has prehistoric remains to visit, but the architectural and artistic splendor of its streets was mainly gained during the time when the Muslims inhabited it, although there are also many vestiges of a later great Christian boom time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We recommend the sideeghts from one of the viewpoints of the Church of San Pedro, among other places, where you can appreciate its natural walls and its unique location.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Olvera<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

This wonderful town is another of the most important ones on the Ruta de los Pueblos Blancos de C\u00e1diz, and has some of the most beautiful streets. A white town, in which its Church and castle both made of stone, stand out, which are none other than the Church of Nuestra Se\u00f1ora de la Encarnaci\u00f3n and the Castle of Olvera, in the upper part, rising above the rest of the houses that make up the white settlement, although it also has a 12th-century Arab castle and a Muslim wall, which reveals its origins as a town.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Torre-Alh\u00e1quime<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

It is a white town located 500 m above sea level. As its name indicates, its origin is due to a fortress belonging to an Arab family, and the town grew in concentric circles around the Muslim tower-fortress, forming the current urban nucleus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We recommend visiting the ruins of the old Nasrid fortress, or enjoying the wonderful panoramic sight from the Arab Tower viewpoint.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Vejer de la Frontera<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Vejer de la Frontera is one of the oldest and most beautiful towns, as there is evidence that it was born as a settlement during the Bronze Age. In its idyllic landscape, plains, hills, beaches, marshes, forests and mountains are distinguished.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We could not fail to point out this town on the list, as it often perplexes the visitor with its Muslim-style half-timbered streets, as well as with its numerous details from other cultures and historical periods in this natural fortification.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Setenil de las Bodegas<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

This is one of the towns in Cadiz located in a most idyllic natural setting, since it has been built across the width of a large rock that makes it up; you can even walk through streets shaded by a large rock, as if they were caves, although it also has these.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
